History of Synthesis Marketing
When Synthesis Marketing first opened its doors in 2001, the focus was on finding smaller companies that needed professional marketing help from people in tune with the small business sector.
Up until that time, access to marketing expertise had largely been the domain of large corporates who could afford the salary of a full time marketing manager. Yet New Zealand is a nation of small and medium sized enterprises, with owner/managers who tend to be multi-skilled rather than experts in any specific area and particularly marketing. Added to which they are often constrained in the amount of time and money they can spend finding assistance in this key area.
What’s in a name?
The word ‘synthesis’ was chosen for its analogy with the method of developing an effective marketing strategy. Synthesis means ‘the process of combining objects or ideas into a complex whole’. In a marketing context we work together using easy steps to build a marketing plan, then develop that plan into a detailed, effective and integrated marketing programme for your business.
Grassroots marketing
Right from day one, Synthesis has had a ‘grassroots approach’ to marketing, and whilst the company and the businesses we work with may have grown, our philosophy remains the same. Understand your market, target your marketing effort, integrate your marketing programmes, value your customer relationships and monitor your results. We’re not into throwing large sums of money at expensive advertising campaigns to build profile. The marketing we preach (and practice) is about lead generation and getting a measurable return on investment.
Seven years down the track and we no longer have to look so hard to find the companies who need professional marketing help. They generally find us.
Today, Synthesis provides a full service marketing team, making it possible for medium and smaller businesses to completely outsource their marketing or to utilise our expertise for specific projects, campaigns and events.
