Hailing from the oil capital of Europe, people immediately warm to Gillian’s lilting Aberdeen accent. And being sociable by nature, she thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and having a good chat.

Gillian emigrated to New Zealand in 1999 with 11 years marketing experience in various roles in the international oil industry behind her - including as Marketing Manager for Oil States Industries in Texas. During this time she was at the forefront of planning and implementing the company’s exhibition stands for the giant oil industry expos – a role which enabled her to utilise some of her very best marketing and communication skills. Highly organised, and with an impressive attention to detail, Gillian thrives on the buzz and adrenalin of bringing projects together without a hitch. Add to that her love of graphics and expertise in developing all the marketing materials required for a show stand and you have a winning combination.

Retail is another passion of Gillian’s. Yes she does love to shop, but she also has a deep understanding of the other side of the counter and the marketing strategies suited to a retail environment.

A high user of the internet, Gillian is comfortable working with different web platforms to assist business owners get a better return on their web investment. This can entail anything from writing ‘text that sells’ to developing on-line newsletters and email campaigns.

With a very busy family, Gillian takes an active support role and works tirelessly on various school and sport’s club committees. It’s probably no coincidence then that her least favourite place to be is in the kitchen. Gillian likes interior design, travel, football, photography and food (anything savoury).

And did we mention… she loves to shop (for research purposes of course).
