The Job

As a Synthesis Marketing Specialist you can expect a very diverse, interesting and rewarding role. You will build relationships with business owner’s right from the initial contact and bring them into the Synthesis network of customers. You will work with them to establish their marketing strategy and plan. From there you will determine the appropriate tactics to deliver on their objectives and then work with them to take those marketing programmes to their market. Every promotion and strategy will be measured with the business owner and results assessed together.

You will enjoy the challenge and excitement of reengineering the marketing of each business and seeing the results and outcomes.

No day is typical. You may be working at the customer’s site, at home or at our offices. You may be presenting strategy, meeting with a graphic artist to design a brochure, writing a newsletter, reviewing website structure, putting a database marketing programme in place, carrying out market research, liaising with media, networking with business owners, or solving business problems in a meeting with a client.

You will also be part of a very effective, talented and supportive team. We each have our own businesses that we champion but we also act as a ‘shadow’ marketing specialist for each other, giving that very valuable second opinion, peer review and contributing to idea generation and testing. You need to be able to work well independently as well as in a team.
There is also plenty of support with excellent in-house business management systems and resources. All designed to minimise downtime and make you  both productive and effective.

Are you the person we need?

You will be great with people, love marketing and have loads of practical marketing experience with small and medium sized businesses. You will have worked independently and as part of a team. You will have the full range of marketing skills from developing strategy right through to writing media releases.  You will have a good understanding of general business management and an appreciation for the day to day challenges of running a company. You may have also owned a business yourself. And of course you will have a tertiary marketing qualification.
 
You will have excellent account management and sales skills, being able to identify new business for Synthesis, bring it in and then deliver on your own promises.

What’s in it for you?

Well of course there is the security of being employed on a salary at a competitive rate. Then there’s the beautiful surroundings to work in and the wonderful business customers that we work with. We are based in Upper Hutt so there will certainly be a very easy commute, if any.
Initially a part time 20 hours per week role, with the intention to grow it to 35 – 40 hours per week. There’s even some flexibility to work from home.
